CRITERIA FOR KHTC TENNIS SCHOLARSHIP

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the scholarship:

 1.  Applicant must be a high school senior that will attend a college or university.

 2.  Applicant must be attending a high school in the 14th, 15th, or 16th region of Eastern Kentucky.

 3.  Applicant must be a winner of one division in the KHTC.

 4.  Winning one event with only two players no longer qualifies an applicant for the scholarship.

 5.  Applicant must complete a tennis service project.

 6.  Applicant must complete the entire tennis application and send back by March 1.

What is a Tennis Service Project?

The success of any non-profit organization is dependent on volunteers giving their time and sharing their passion for tennis with others whether it is helping at a tournament like the Kenny Huffman Tennis Classic, assisting at special events or clinics, initiating a program in your community to promote or grow the game of tennis, and more!

Help with an Event:

 -Junior Team Tennis Coaches

 -Team coaches/instructors

 -Community tennis organizers – Events - Fundraising

 -Tennis in the Schools

 -Clinic helpers

 -Team adopters

 -School tennis program organizers

 -Put on or assist with Tennis Playdays and Tournaments

 -Tournament Court monitors

 -Tournament desk help

 -Publicity and press helper or content creator

 -Assistant tennis coach – Jr Team Coach

 -Equipment collection and drives

 -Tennis racquet stringing at tournaments and events

 -Administrative work – CTA – NJTL – KHTC – High School Team

 -Graphic design, social media, blogging – content development & posting/Sharing

Fundraising:

 -Solicit auction items

 -Recruit sponsors

 -Back of the house organization

Tennis Exhibitions:

 -Help plan and organize event

 -Help with set up and break down of space

 -Recruit attendees

Host an Event or Create an Event:

 -Organize a tennis clinic

 -Host a social event in your home

 -Tennis Program
